Cell and Tissue Engineering
Cells are the fundamental components that make up tissues and organs. Our goal is to control cell functions and determine their fate through stem cell differentiation, cell reprogramming, and synthetic biology approaches, which can lead to more effective therapies. To achieve successful tissue regeneration, it is essential to understand how immune cells, stem cells, and resident cells interact in the microenvironment. Our lab conducts research on the mechanisms of tissue remodeling and employs a multidisciplinary approach that involves engineering cells, biomaterials, drug delivery systems, and biophysical therapies. The lab’s current focus is on the regeneration of cardiovascular, neuromuscular, and connective tissues.
